As a result, the focus has increasingly shifted toward understanding the long-term health and well-being of survivors. This concern primarily revolves around three key areas: quality of life, psychological health, and financial burdens. In this article, we examine the quality of life of long-term colorectal cancer survivors, considering various treatment options such as surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, and watchful waiting. A particular emphasis is placed on sexual functioning, an aspect often overlooked in clinical settings, and its role in overall quality of life. In addition, this review examines the psychosocial challenges and financial pressures that survivors often encounter, delving into the factors that contribute to these issues. Survivors often experience persistent problems such as chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy, dry mouth, hair loss, gastrointestinal problems resulting in frequent and urgent bowel movements, and incontinence. They may also face complications related to ostomy care, dissatisfaction with body image, sexual dysfunction, and an overall decline in life satisfaction. Psychosocial challenges such as anxiety, depression, and distress, along with the financial strain of treatment expenses and potential job loss, exacerbate their situation. Although these problems are not easily addressed, the review aims to provide a foundation for the development of targeted interventions, offering guidance for both researchers and healthcare providers in crafting effective support strategies to tackle these diverse challenges. %U https://galaxypub.co/article/long-term-survival-outcomes-of-colorectal-cancer-survivors-an-in-depth-exploration-xqaxbvjsjp8huc8
